It's not truly stated as to what EXACTLY happened...Also people handle their stress and depression differently depending on a situation. It's not the best choice but people do this.
I understand that but however you need to understand that people handle things differently. The way you handle your stress or choices is not judged by others so you shouldn't say she is stupid if you yourself can be seen as stupid based off of your own choices in life.

In middle school you are very vulnerable and insecure. I learned this wheN I took developmental psychology. People are busy trying to find themselves and figure out who they are. Again people cope to stressful things in different ways. I bet you cope to things your way and I cope to things my way.
