Now I definitely agree with your thoughts on the father but his mother actually fights for him and goes against the father. She is not passive her husband just doesn't listen so I actually like her#－.－)
She is passive - all she does is saying "Oh honey, don't be like that to him", the father says "Shut up" and she's all "ok, I did all I could".
So his dad is selfish (doesn't want his work go away with him because HONOR, pushes his eldest son to marry father's dead friend's daughter he apparently never cared about since he doesn't know her name and what's with her - because HONOR, won't let his son marry whoever he wants, because MONEY and HONOR), his mom is caring but passive, his brother is a teenager ( = useless) and his fiancee is a cunning, manipulative bitch who is very likely to abandon him, because he fell sick and she might get flashbacks of her sick dad ( = spending money to keep him healthy = he won't be making money when sick = she will have to work AND take care of him when he falls weak oh no).

I agree... sadly a lot of people in SK are like this irl too (they care about not losing their “face” i.e. honour a LOT). And I think the mother is essentially powerless because well, she’s the “woman” and she’s probably likely to be a housewife so the whole “dad has the final say about things because he’s the breadwinner of the family” thing is happening here :-/
Okay im seeing it but at least she even said something right? I mean I still like her even if she is a bit passive. N9w what if she just sat there and watched and stayed quiet or just left the room. Now I would have definitely saw that as completely being passive so it makes me happy that she said something yo try and fight for her son and she also seems to not mind if her son doesn't particularly find a lady with a great backround....bit OMG I HOPE WHATEVER THAT LADYS NAME IS MESSES IT UP CAUSE SHE DOESNT DESERVE HIM!! What a piece of shit father. Idc if he thinks what he does is in Joonhyuk's best interest. It is not. Selfish father and passive mother. Joonhyuk deserves better. I hope Doh doesn't go all bitchy too bc the only thing I thought was genuine about her were her feelings for Joonhyuk.
