Fictional stories that reduce romantic realness

honestly is this strictly yaoi in the sense that there will be fan service sex mainly with a barely there plot (pwp) or instead a fantastical plot of absurdity with a dash of romance for pity's sake? This plot as it stands doesn't present itself as a likely romance kindled between the two leads regardless of how interesting I find it. The plot is definitely unique and so far well written. However you have a sadistic demon bent on using a human for a means to an end which includes killing/torturing said human. And a confused police officer who is down on his luck, but continues to have a string of bad luck follow him for simply existing. I'm always intrigued how authors' are able to rationalize a romance that would otherwise be completely impossible from a realistic point of view even when the suspension of disbelief is already at an all time high.

Is it compulsory for Yaoi to be romance? Nope. Yaoi is just sexual relationship between 2 guys, not necessarily love. Currently we only have Yaoi in this, with the fan service and actual sex in future (I think) But I don't feel like it's going to take a romance turn anytime soon. (Since the cop is a widower who still hasn't recovered from his wife's death and the demon is just using him to open the door and bullying him)
