I dont understand how anyone is surprised. It has been implied from the very beginning that Sangwoo's mom was sexually and mentally abusing him. From the beginning it was clear that Sangwoo's interest, especially sexual interest, in Bum was due to his mom. Like every time they do something sexual he thinks of his mom and all flashbacks of his mom had sexual undertones. Clearly people have been trying to ignore what they didn't want to believe...

No truer words. And people blame koogi for "lazy" writing when it has been implied for a long time. And for me this is the psychological horror Ive been waiting for demn.

Do you know that Oedipus complex is not strictly tied to sexual abuse? You're right that Sangwoo showed a weird obsession towards his mom/Bum since the start, but the reasons could have been many, and even more interesting.
An example: Ed Gein, the serial killer who inspired another famous murderer with mommy issues, Norman Bates from Psycho, had sexual feelings for his abusive mom. But he has never been raped by her. She was obsessive and a strict religious woman and mentally abused him and his brother for years. Sangwoo's mom abused and manipulated him to love and forgive her since he was a child, while at the same time attempting to kill him, it wouldn't be a shock if he started to be attracted and at the same time repulsed by her. Especially because she kinda sexually abused him already when she let Sangwoo to watch her and his dad fucking. This already shaped his brain and even his sexuality since the start.
The physical rape is just a plus that doesn't add anything to Sangwoo's character, it just makes the mom even more despicable and there's no need to that, because we already knew it and at this point she's becoming an over-the-top villain evil for the sake of it.
And some people found this writing choice "lazy" because she already used it with Bum and Uncle, and with the same reasons. The uncle raped Bum because he looked like his ex-girlfriend, Eunseo because Sangwoo looks like her husband. Parallels are fine, but then Sangwoo abuses and rapes Bum because he looks like his mom and it's the same plot point three times. Also, using the same backstory for the main characters is a bit too much; sexual abuse is sadly common so I'm not saying it's unrealistic, but in fiction variety of situations is better: Both Bum and Sangwoo have been abused, in both similar AND different ways.
Plus, and I don't want to minimize real abuse, but in yaoi rape as backstory is used as a cliche and I always thought KS is better than the typical yaoi.
For a series that started unique and original with a great potential to be ground-breaking, a more interesting idea would have been appreciated. I still expect a twist in the situation. Sangwoo is a victim, but at some point he became an abuser. I would like to see that moment because is when his life truly completely changed. If he just kills the "evil monster" in self-defense after she raped him ( even though i'm not sure she's really dead) it would be too easy. With all the flashbacks, we have seen sangwoo as 100% the victim and all the (well deserved) hate is focused on the mom, most people forgot what despicable piece of shit he was in season 1 and 2. Imagine a twist that would shake your morals. The abused boy rapes, tortures and kills his abuser mom, and he enjoys it. You pitied Sangwoo until that moment, then you start to pity the evil mom. Confusion, shock, disgust. While dying the mother laughs because she successfully broke her son. The good boy Sangwoo is no more. She had control on him till her end. Killing the rat without killing it. This would be an interesting strike (while fucked-up), but this is Killing Stalking. A psychological thriller about a serial killer and a stalker, not a lesson about abuse or a criticism on society.

Sorry I didn't read all that, I imagine its just explaining to me why you don't have to be abused to wanna fuck your mom, but I obviously didn't mean that was the ONLY reason. But this is clearly a manga about trauma and abuse, which is why I meant in THIS case. Both characters have been shown to be abused and unhealthy, which is what I was trying to get at. Healthy people don't wanna fuck their moms. If you have a mom complex, you probably aren't healthy. Also, I think you addressed it like I was saying sangwoo only has a sexual thing for his mom because she raped him??? But I'm pretty sure I said sexually abused by his mom was the reason in this case, so I didn't say it was just because of the rape. Its because of all of he creepy sexual things she exposed him to from a young age and the mental manipulation and abuse she did to him.

Yeah, I agree. Koogi's writing has always been good, its fans, especially underage fans, that keep misinterpreting her work. Many people want to ignore this for what it is and make it into something its not, and then think the writing is bad because it isn't making sense within the context they have made up for it. This isn't yaoi, in my opinion. This is horror and psychological genre first, and one character in it is gay. I honestly hate yaoi being a category because of the cliches and bad tropes. I wish we could just have an lgbt tag or something and break away from dehumanizing or fetishizing gay people in comics. But thats kind of hard to do with the long standing traditions, and the majority of these comics being written by straight women. Lol anyway, thats just my 2 cents.

I haven't forgotten. I do not forgive Sangwoo for his sadistic serial murder. I don't forgive him for torturing Bum. He has earned a death. If he live and gets a happy ending, I would not be happy. He really needs to pay. Whatever mom did to him it isn't enough to justify what he's done.

I agree with this not being the typical yaoi story because it is not. Now, I love me some yaoi but when I read Killing Stalking, I knew from the get go that this is not a love story. You are right that it is mostly underage teenage girls who mostly shit on this story
