not impossible, but i think it's something different.
he wished to be 'normal' as a child, so okay, skinny = normal, but now that he is skinny, he is everything BUT normal and doesn't lead a normal life (and just like tani is still gay, i also don't think he could change whatever 'unnormal' think he has too, and just like tani, he still clearly has no contact with his family), he specifically dislikes it when people fall for him too much, thinks being called pretty or beautiful is dumb too etc., so unless he has some serious inferiority complex left from his childhood days, i don't think someone who disliked their looks for being overweight would react that way to being called beautiful now that they are skinny.
i also think just being fat as a child won't make him react that way, because like i said, it's not like he is really obsessed with his looks anyway? and i know many good-looking ppl who were ugly ducklings, and they don't really mind that, they are also a lot of famous people like that.
i think it's something else, from a totally fucked up family maybe, which would be pretty dark, to a normal/dull (maybe even ugly, the guy said they must be beautiful because they are related) looking family who always treated him special (for better or worse) because of his outstanding looks. he seems to hate it when people obsess over him or rather his looks.
i mean he said no photos existed, and the manager guy said it would be a problem even if they wanted to, and not having ANY photos of your family IS really weird. (which brings me back to the related issue, if you are related to major assholes, it would also explain the statement by the other guy, who would like to be compared to their fucked up family?)

The struggle is real
Like maybe he used to be really fat? He had some kinda animosity towards his chubby manager, he barely eats food (seems to dislike anything with more than 2 calories), and he refuses to show childhood photos. I dunno just my overthinking again!
