I was sooo relieved he came through (mostly) unscathed! One of the things I hate the most is the love triangle when both guys match the MC well and you hate seeing one get hurt. I really wasn't enjoying the triangle for a period, there, but luckily it was worth sticking with.

Yes! I feel the same. I don't like seeing second lead characters getting rejected (though, they are meant to be rejected) but thankfully, the second lead here immediately accepted that fact which I like the most.
