All these points are valid BUT he is right to be concerned about Lihuan... that he may be confused about liking someone b/c he is socially inept...also yuyang doesn't want him to experience the shunning and mocking that comes from being gay in a biased society
I agree with this as well, good point!
He's been through a lot. He's been bullied and likely had his feelings messed with in the past. That shit is kind of hard to get through, and it probably is hard to believe someone truly likes him after all that he;s been through.
But part of it is also his own resistance. He is afraid to admit he is falling for Lihuan and he is afraid of getting hurt. This isn't just him being stubborn, but his past experience really shapes his decisions without him realizing.
I like this realistic aspect. He isn't just the fun loveable gay who is otherwise perfect except for his personality. He's been hurt and he has to heal to accept the possibility of being with Lihuan.
