In a way I agree with you that Siwon has always been written that way. However, the mark of a good story is having good character development, which this story lacks the most. It does not help that the plot goes around in a circle.
So, just because Siwon was a terrible character from the beginning that justifies him being a terrible character still? Or even more of a terrible character, to be honest?
I mean, c'mon, the whole kidnapping was completely his own fault because the author isn't writing characters. They're writing puppets for some tacky, blue-balling softcore porn.
What kind of person -- no matter how "ditzy" and "confused" and "dense" -- follows a guy who:
1) kidnapped their so called best friend
2) tried to rape them several times
3) murder them
4) harassed and bullied their so called boyfriend
5) stalked their so called boyfriend to Korea
out to a bar alone and takes a drink from them? Really, how suicidally stupid does someone have to be to do that? (And yes, Siwon knew Seonyun did all that when he followed him out to a bar.)
So obviously the author doesn't have any respect for their own characters or their own story or their readers, and I really don't see why the readers should then have any respect for them either.
Also, Siwon isn't particularly good. To be good, you'd have to actually do something good. I suppose the only time he actually did something good was when he saved his so called best friend from bullies. Otherwise he just throws hissy fits and cries and waits for other people to clean up his overwrought emotional messes.
P.S. If people want to hate-read this and vent their frustrations/laugh about it with others that's their prerogative.
This story really reminds me of Never Understand where the main character is just a regular guy, and everyone else has fucking problems. I personally could not stand how that story turned out, and the comments here remind me of how so many people blamed the main regular guy in N.U. for everyone else being fucked up, and are only happy when there's sex.
Like, from the beginning I was really happy when Siwon was happy, but he also --- ugh, like you guys are really overestimating him. He was always ditsy and confused, for fucks' sake his best friend had a crush on him that we all saw and he couldn't see. He didn't realize he even knew Jinha until like forever into the story. Siwon is PRESENTED exactly as he fucking should be. His character is dense, and emotional, and gets scared easy. He is literally kidnapped right now by a guy playing games, and the only person he loves can't tell him that they're also playing games.
You're all upset with Siwon for not being a strong, manly man. He never fucking was, and the author did not try to present him as such. The same goes for Seonyun. He was never presented as not being a snake, yet no one is nearly as mad at him. Siwon's character was so weak to Seonyun because he didn't know he was a fucking snake to begin with. It's not in his nature to hate Seonyun like we want him to. He even feels bad for him sometimes. (Even if we don't).
The comments saying "Siwon should just leave and let Seonyun win" annoy me the most. First of all, he is kidnapped. Secondly, you are willing to accept that a character like Seonyun is sincerely evil versus Siwon who is sincerely good because he isn't doing what you want him to do. HAaha, you guys are a fucking joke. All of these people complaining will sure as hell get hyped as fuck if an update occurs right after you post your jump-ship comment.
