Not even considering the fact that kids were never mentioned, this was written by an author that should understand what flow means in a plot. Like there wasn't even a buildup like make big mistake, apologize and confess onesidedly, then fuck her like wtf?? Time has nothing to do with this since, if this was supposed to be realistic, no girl would fall for someone who treats her like trash political marriage or no.
Ok so I don't hate the main guy like a lot of ppl here but even I got whiplash when he suddenly said "I love you" then went straight to having sex with her. Like dude let it settle a bit, let her know how damn sorry you are, and overall just give yourselves some time to get used to things and act lovey dovey before jumping her, you know? Just saying "I love you" doesn't solve all relationship problems man! And girl, you gotta be stronger than that! Let him stew a little, make him sorrier, he deserves some hardship after how badly he treated you!!
