I am confused like what was the thing that happened first half into chapter 1??? Did that happen before or after An Shan became an office worker? Well probably before but both doesn't seem to connect well. Nani shite kudasai

maybe the prologue and the actual chapter have been mixed, and it looks like the actual chapter starts after the panel title (after the black jacket man has been shot)

Aaaaah so confusing. We need more chapters to clear things up

I think the concert happened afterwards. Author revealed an important event that will happen later on, then back to the start and tells a story of how they first met.
    My theory because -
It is impossible for someone with that huge of popularity to suddenly ends up as a normal office worker, continue living life and treated by those around him as if nothing happened unless years have passed, but An Shan was introduced as a 25 y/o office worker, quite young imo. And big stars usually get involved in the same industry even after they back down from big screens, at least not office worker at that age.
Also, An Shan haven't meet up with the glasses guy (sorry, forgot his name >.>) yet (assuming he's the one who got shot). If the concert happened before, they would have gotten closer, but the phone call revealed otherwise.
Last thing is An Shan's personality when he's a office worker, he thought of chasing dreams as something far-fetched and unrealistic. Yet the lyrics of the song he sang gives a feeling as if he had come to a realisation of something later on (assuming the lyrics written by him).

As Hetian above mentioned, the prologue is mixed with the start of the story. It's quite common with manhwa, but can be confusing without the "few years later/after" note.
That aside, sure hope the mc won't die ╥﹏╥

Thanks for the explanation, kinda get it but Im still confused lmao imo Chinese comics (manhua) are much more confusing than Korean (manhwa) and Japanese comics (manga) ( ̄∇ ̄")

Ehh really? To put it simple, An Shan, now an office worker, will meet up with his friend, his friend may inspire him to chase his dreams, things happened, he became popular, (he's doing a concert, some creep wants to kill him, his friend got shot instead - first half of chp 1, more of a preview).

And you got me lmao, I messed up manhwa and manhua, but it's not uncommon in manhwa either.
It's the opposite for me, manhua is easier to understand because I can read Chinese. Sometimes, the meaning is lost in translation. The same word in Chinese can have different meaning and so it's often used as pun which adds more depth and fun to a dialogue. Translators interpret the dialogue according to their understanding and tries to explain, yet over-explaining causes more confusion, even for me. Often when I don't get the manhua's dialogue, I read it raw and they make perfect sense.
Chinese have those nuances that are hard to be explained in English. For manga as well, sometimes I don't get the meaning in Eng translated, I'll read the Chinese translated, I think Chinese and Japanese have more similar vocabs.
And I'll agree on how confusing is historical manhua, dang they are much more complicated than normal manhua and I can't even understand most things after translation...I feel sorry for the translators lol.

You're welcome but don't take my words for it 100% lol, it's just my understanding and speculations for the story.
Chinese is my mother tongue but not the main medium of education in our country so I can read the basics and commonly used terms. In terms of the intricacy of the language itself, I'm far from it lmao.
Just a suggestion, maybe you can get someone close to teach you a bit of Japanese?

I gave up halfway on learning to write and read Japanese a few years back because it was hell to learn all of those from scratch and my dad also kinda just gave up on me too lol he once said that its enough for him that i can converse in fluent japanese at the very least. Sad, really

Haha I get what you mean. I joined my school Japanese club years ago, I only lasted 3 months, forgot most, only remember some hiragana On the contrary, I managed to learn a few terms from watching animes. It's cool if you can speak Japanese, if you like animes too, watching those with Jap-sub can help a lot, it'll be like figuring out word puzzles lol. At least to me they're not as boring as plain language lessons
