It depends on the author's rules but from what I understand, a pair is just an omega and alpha becoming mates after the bite while a fated pair has a strong magnetic pull to be together with that one person even before they mate/get bitten.
Sometimes, author's have it where if they are not mated, it becomes extremely uncomfortable/lonely/empty if they aren't close to each other or together at all. And once they mate, being with the other and sex feels extremely good/euphoriac. Also why they like to nickname it with "soulmates" or "destined partner".

Sometimes fated pair doesn't need biting on the nape and it's like they'll be bonded when they meet each other when omega is in heat and some fated pair do need biting on the nape but when they meet each other omega will go into heat even tho they're not supposed to be in heat and ordinary bond/pair are made while omega is in heat, and there's some omegaverse like Love Is An Illusion where they can be pair when they are deeply in love, it's like that but really it all depends on author's mindset tbh (⌒▽⌒)
I was wondering. What is the different between in pair and fated pair. Because sometimes they use it and sometimes it's just bond. So can someone explain it to me(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
