Wow, it was crazy how I was thinking of the exact opposite thing haha. I liked the second story because I thought it was beautiful that akito is the one who saved him from despair without him knowing it. It just makes you wonder that maybe in real life, a small act of kindness could make someone's day. I guess people have different perspectives :)
The last thing you wrote, I completely relate to that. That small acts of kindness could safe someone else. I personally experienced such a thing, too.

I personally don't like the second story. If I would be in Akitos position, I certainly thought about the possibility that I didn't fulfill all of this 'tests'. It would have scarred me for life knowing that a person committed suicide and I was the last person he was with. Furthermore I couldn't handle the fact being rich because of a suicide... Thats just tragic! I think a person can't lay their life in someones hand in such an way. That's too unfair towards the other person and very irresponsible. It could have destroyed this persons life forever.
Though I'm really unhappy about this story I do like the works of this author alot and I hope to read alot more of them.
