Crossed index finger

Hello guys,
I have a general question. I see alot of Manga and Webtoons (especially Korean ones) that have a person crossing both of their index finger. What does it mean? I couldn't find anything except the meaning for getting the bill in a restaurant in Japan...dunno if thats true though.
Hope you can help me :)

But isn't that thumb and index finger? :D Or does both signs mean the same?
