This left a bitter taste in my mouth..
To be fair, they only see each other for two hours every year. Did you expect the "selfish guy" to wait for Christmas to tell him it won't work? Santa got the short end of the stick before meeting him when he became Santa. But I agree about him being selfish in regards to the red head and very underwhelming.
It's a somewhat bitter story. Santa claus got the short end of the stick, and MC just waltzed out on him. I get that long distance is hard, in this case extremely hard and tiring. But MC and Santa never talked it out, they're each going at their own pace.
MC rushes ahead in his own words "selfishly", and Santa boy is still playing catch up.
