I've been saying we probably mischaracterized Wataru just believing what Lying Rina was saying. She is devious. We know she's malevolent and devious. He's a victim, too, looks like.
I'm seriously getting tired of this, now they are making Wataru the sole problem of this which is ridicilous. I'm not getting tricked by her facade, she has been using her cuteness and looking vulnerable as a way to guilt trip since the first chapter..
Looking at the last chapter I feel sorry for Wataru. When seeing those flashbacks it's obviously Rina was very good at pretending to be in love with him, doesn't that hurt being in a relationship with someone who smiles at you every day, but in reality have no feelings for you and go around and try to find someone new to hookup with?
I wouldn't say he is abusive. Just very hurt, and because of that a very angry man.
Anger is a very natural response to sadness.
