I re-read a few of the earlier chapters and I don't think the brother is his ex boyfriend. They have different names and hair color. My thoughts about this is that masato may have done something in the past to the brother that may have had a negative effect. Why I think this is because of the warning about being stabbed in the back because of things he did in the past was being repeated in his thoughts when the brother appeared. Also, it kind of seems like the brother wants to cause some trouble with some of the things he was saying, which I don't know if he is aiming that towards masato or asahi. But these are just my thoughts on the matter. :)
