I really love the advanced setting too. I just find it weird that there are not shops that sell the omega suppressants 24/7. That seems like a plot flaw after the entire haven thing with heavy security buildings and whatnot.
Omegaverse is usually very rape-heavy and uses bad cliches. And Omegas are seen as worthless despite them being the only ones being able to birth Alphas. That always confused me a damn lot. Makes little sense.
So I'm really excited about this advanced setting. Hopefully we'll see more of how the Haven is build up too.
I am guessing, but probably the biggest reason there isn’t any immediate need for suppressants is because, as MC narrated, there isn’t any complete need for them. Author-san was gracious enough to spare anyone from something they have seem before a million times, but still leave room for questions and skepticism. The discrimination, prejudice...everything has decreased in the AU; decreased, yes, but hasn’t been completely been thrown to the back of everyone’s mind. Instead of the usual Os we get, we have happy, successful, career driven, living life with little to no concerns, I am my own boss bitch ones! And that is a wonderful boost for them. In cliché/trope Omegaverses the mindset of characters are ill, society is suffocating, Os are riddled with fear/anxiety/etc...so here is a breath of fresh air taken in slowly and carefully so as to not disrupt any given forgiving boundaries. Omegas are still dripping in sex pheromones, Alphas are still walking boners, and Betas may or may not have problems being the normals but we’ll see when we see just how different this really is.
True, but they should still be available everywhere since it can turn into chaos if someone needs suppressants and has none. Then again it may be a plot device to move things along, authors sometimes do that when they get too lazy to write or have too little time to plan things out. XD
I truly hope we get to see a lot more different aspects of this setting. And somehow I hope it becomes the norm for Omegaverse. Reading the 'normal' stories is always an unpleasant gamble, often with the worst outcome (or I'm just unlucky finding the worst..).
But now that you mention it, I DO wonder how the Betas in this world work. They are usually non-existent, pitiful love-less side characters or 'good friends' who don't get tail. I'd love to see them in this world setting. Not necessarily as love interest anywhere.
I would pay a pretty penny for more Alpha x Beta or Beta x Omega pairing!!! I read a couple and it’s still got me in my feelings! I think these pairings are sweet...er than Alpha x Omega. Have you read Kashikomarimashita Destiny? The Alpha x Beta butler pairing is MY LIFE!!!
Oh YES. Beta pairings with Alphas are so darn interesting. <3 I would also pay good money to see more of those, they are very underappreciated. And I fail to see why. ;-;

I like how this story evolves in terms of treatment of Omegas and how they are viewed in society, compared to the vast majority. They are treasured and have a haven just for themselves to escape the troubles of Alphas.
Still, how long we gon’ wait for updates? If I knew how to do this whole thing...we’d probably have the whole damn story.
