No, the author doesn't forget. I remember the scene when they were having sex in the bathroom at Yohan's place, and Yohan couldn't read Soohwa's except through the mirror or when Soohwa wrote on the mirror. Also, when Yohan loses control of himself, Soohwa was mad at him for not "hearing" his protests, but it's more like Soohwa forgets Yohan can't really hear him when they lose themselves in the passion. Also, keep in mind that KSL is different from ASL so the gestures may not be similar. I do notice Soohwa is signing still when they're doing it.
