I would be interested to know too.
It seems as though pornography has been illegal in China for quite some time? Considering this and that her novel is described as "obscene" and "violent", I can only guess that its because, well porn is against the law, along with the fact that she sold quite a few copies of her book...apparently there was rape in the book which added to her getting 10 years...which is ironic cause rapists get less than 10 years...
Though they seem to be cracking down on BL specifically...which is funny considering that gay rights have been in place since 1997?
Weibo really tried to purge content including “pornographic implications, promoting bloody violence, or related to homosexuality.” I guess all because "lewd content" and therefore also artwork and most bl are kinda...illegal.
I guess its not neccessarily that "sex scenes between two guys are banned" but more that all pronographic content is banned...though they seem to be very biased towards bl content.
Countries are getting more and more progressive. Give it time. We cannot expect mindsets and laws to change within a couple of years. Not all countries are that flexible. They will come around, and if its because of public outcry or because "all the big and cool countries are doing this too!"
Yeah i know, there were some BL series in China which were finished abruptly without gettin in its ending such as "Addicted"(a really famous one) but other lgbt ones which talk about woman love don't have all this attention from chinese government. It seems their consent is to ban homo content with all costs y'a know. In some countries around the globe, men homosexuality is prohibited while women dont, i have an idea about why, in general it's because of this whole misogynist concept about masculinity which seeks guys who fit in the complex of macho man. If you have entertainment things which dont follow this basic rule, they'll come after you and i guess that's happening in China. From outside, China seems a powerful country with good economics aspects, but it is a retrograde one in social rights than their peers at Asia( most of all are in the same pace though) .

I thought sex scenes between two guys were banned in China, a while ago a female author was locked up for ten years because of that( https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-46257240) lol maybe it seems subtle but i dont wanna the same thing could happen to Djun. Also i remembered when the chinese plataform censored Lihuan and Yuyang first kiss, this scene was posted by Djun on some other upload site and we could see it. You can take a look at ( https://m.dongmanmanhua.cn/CAMPUS/hereuare/第35话/viewer?title_no=1203&episode_no=42)
I dont understand why chinese politics has issues towards lgbt people like for real lol, we are in 21st century not in the fuckin ancien times to have to deal with this kinda of nonsense. Love is love! Everyone has the right to love who they want no matter what gender is.
