Wow, the amount of people justifying rape here is amazing.
Yes, he made a stupid choice. Does that mean he should be raped?
He was worried the rapist would tell his childhood friend about their past. It shouldn't be a big deal but he seen how his CF reacted to rapist when he saw him at the restaurant and at that point the CF didn't know anything. He was worried he would lose the CF he loves.
From the outside we can see that is stupid but remember these things. He is young and stupid, at the age his brain most likely hasn't finished developing. A time where hormones are still playing havoc with you mind. Not only that but humans are not computers. We get emotionally invested in things and that can cloud our judgement. The fact his CF might leave him seemed like the worst thing that could happen at that moment. Plus hindsight is 20/20.
Looking back you can see that the things you may have done were extremely stupid. At the time though things may have seemed different. Our brains are faulty and what seems "logical" can change with emotions. That doesn't make the rape justifiable.
Or maybe you are the kind of person to tell a woman they should have dressed differently after they were raped. Or maybe you think domestic abuse victims deserve getting beaten since they haven't left yet. Dispute you not know what kind of emotional manipulation might be happening. You stay, your fault right?
Where do you draw the line in when someone deserves rape and when they don't? If you met someone in real life who made a stupid mistake like this, one they realize was stupid too late, and ended up raped would you tell them to their face it was their fault because of a stupid choice?
