I think people don't know the beauty of power ceilings. One thing shounen tends to suffer from is when authors just add on new powers, instead of solving problems with the abilities their characters already have. It was a major bummer for Naruto, as they kept adding new powers, new rules, until these characters apparently had the ability to blow up continents. Now I don't think Horikoshi is that kind of writer, but I'm super apprehensive of adding new powers because of past works. I'm still going in this positively, but this is probably why some people are not happy with these new powers.

I definitely understand where you're coming from, because that's exactly why I stopped reading/watching shounen. I got tired of MCs powering up over and over again with no reasonable explanation, other than "the power of friendship made them stronger". It was bland and exhausting. But what I love about My Hero Academia is that there IS a logic to his power-up (come on, I couldn't have been the ONLY person to wonder what happened to the original quirks of the previous holders of One For All) and Midoriya works hard enough for us to accept that.

oh yeah for sure. Like I said Horikoshi is a great writer, so I am curious where this is going to go.

I'm against characters being too powerful too, like Ichigo. The author always said that he had a abundant reserve of Shinigami powers and he seems to always seems to absorb the powers of all his enemies. He was so powerful, it was ridiculous to think that he would die or wasn't even a captain in the Gotei 13. He could even be the commander ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
But in this case, I can understand the additional quirks. I mean, having 6 additional quirks would definitely help him in his fight against All for One who can suck out powers and make it his own. He could at least have that going on inside his body if he really had to go against the Villains and AfO.

Luffy has legit reasons why he can power up and oda showed us his training with rayleigh. I adore izuku and his slow but good development but luffy is a hotheaded strong-willed guy who will even battle the most Badass monster powered Katakuri, one of the greatest villains I've seen in an anime. All horikoshi needs to do is start taking some notes and make his villains more likeable and even in the smallest ways relatable. Like katakuri stabbed himself with his own speae when he realised that his sister shot luffys leg. According to katakuri luffy was fully concentrated on their battle and she took the opportunity and shot him with her gun.katakuri not knowing this stabbed luffy on his chest when he fell on the ground . Katakuri proceeded to stab himself in front of her and take of his scar to show her his mouth ignoring her bully afterwards and continuing his battle with luffy to whom he told that he respects
