╮(￣_￣)╭ Not going to deny that lazy writing part considering yes, without the rape as a plot device, there really wouldn't be that much of a plot left. But ya know, you can't really expect a masterpiece out of every yaoi, especially a genre that fetisizes literally every taboo and caters to an audience that feeds off of a sparkly and soft version of what is normally abuse. Authors, especially ones who aren't capable of making that 8 volume shounen ai masterpiece we're all truly craving, have to play the feed the sensation game too. Mangaka is a competitive job after all. But its your opinion, so I'll respect that.

Thats not the case. Its just lazy and bad writing.
Its a quick way to get a sex scene in the first chapter instead of actually fleshing out the relationship or story.
Dont believe me? Go read a yaoi manga that is only 1 volume (5 chapters) you'll find alot of authors do the same.
Its a way to make a quick buck by selling to fujoshis with weird ass fantasies without putting effort in.
