Nobody protects Yanek, only saying about calculted Diesel behaviors. These threads are about DIESEL not Yanek.
For me, Diesel isn't complex character, he's queit simply like Bexan and Minsuk.
Complex characters are Ein, Yanek and Pablo.
People didn't criticize Diesel before, they start doing it 2 weaks ago, cause Diesel gives them reason to do it.
Yes I get your point but they criticizing him based on how he us treating yanek..how he is being calculating nd manipulative towards yanek..and how that is unfair..which to me kinda seems defensive towards yanek..coz yanek saved him and in return diesel is being like this..yada yada etc..etc..and I'm confused as to why that is such an issue..he is with a mafia member..after finding out what yanek does plus his own experiences..why shouldn't he be a little calculating..I get that he loved the guy or at least super attached to him but like how Ein is conflicted about their relationship..he was probably conflicted too about Yanek..which is why I also think he is a complex character..but again to each their own. I personally don't like yanek and am glad he died..he was not a good person and I think he treated diesel like a pet..with a little extra loving than normal....and I don't think people who transform into dogs are simple characters. Maybe instead of complex..complicated..but definitely not simple.
People criticize Diesel, cause his behavior, not cause he doing it towards Yanek. If Diesel does this some things towards Ein, it would be also wrong.
Diesel also is criminal like Yanek. It's not like he is innocent child.
I don't think that Diesel loves Yanek or he is super attached towards him. At last Yanek risks his life and try protect Diesel, but Diesel literally does nothing to repay him for this. He doesn't even let Yanek know about danger and police. It's not to much. When you care about someone you don't look in silent how others brings him down.
That's why Diesel is calculeted and manipulative. He doesn't care about Yanek, but still with crying face lies to him how he is importnat to him. That's make him awfull.
He can not love Yanek and leave him, but he shouldn't use Yanek feelings for his own sake. Yanek cares about Diesel and made a lot good things for him, so he deserves on some honesty and loyality. Diesel silent is agreement on everything what bad happens to Yanek in future.
People really have reasons to not liking Diesel.
People think Diesel owes Yanek his loyalty because he saved him from a bad situation, but fact stands that Yanek is not all that protective of Diesel because he loves him more than he's protective because Diesel is useful.
Their relationship is dub-con and borderline Stockholm syndrome to me. People think Yanek caring about Diesel's secret is love, but more and more I see Yanek caring for the secret itself more than for Diesel. It's become a domination thing more than love.
And if it comes down to it... You can have important people in your life, and they still are bad people.
Diesel said Ein took the man he loved from him. Doesn't make Yanek less of an awful guy.
So you think, that when someone save your life, then you shoudn't do this same for him if you have opportunity? Interesting.

Yanek without thinking risks his life for Diesel, that's showing the best his true feelings. In this same time Diesel can't even tell him, that he is danger, only lies him about how important Yanek is in his life. He is manipulative guy.

Yanek risks his life for Diesel, saved him, trying protects him and cares about him. You don't go to lethal situation for someone who isn't important for you. Even Ein said, that it's to dangerous for Yanek.
