Sadly yes, season 1 ends on the biggest cliffhanger ever. The worst thing is, season 2 comes back in 3 months :(

soon this series will come to an end because season 1 has finished, season 2 will start in 3 months (●￣(ｴ)￣●) now for the spoilers.

basically Jennette gives Athy this hairpin, and Athy actually wears it for the next gathering. During that, Athy coughs up blood because the hairpin makes her magic lose control.
Because Lucas is gone, Claus saves Athy and ends up using MOST of his magical power. And in the end, Athy is saved but Claus has no memory of Athy. So back to square 1
