I'm still confused whether Ishtar was a good goddess that people loved or an evil one who cursed people

    Both, she was loved by the people and she wished to give gifts to those who had distinguished themselves. However, for each gift she gave a price because she believed that it would once more shape them into people worthy of those gifts.

    Of course, she also was childish and selfish from what we've seen, but it is clear that the people cared for her as they had continued to worship her even after a thousand years had passed and that she loved the people as well as she gave gifts to them with generally good intentions. This we can see by the fact that in her conversation Varuna (?) she clearly did not understand how her gift was a curse.

    I believe she was giving and more kind in the beginning but she became sort of corrupted by her old lover and maybe the person in her dreams

    That actually makes sense! Guess we have to wait and see how her character is developed :)
