If that’s the case that makes me furious and that is so fucked up. Like what only now that you got to have a taste of a “normal”life and just that it unfortunately crashed and burned so nowyou think hey i’ll Try being “fully” gay/bi for my clearly gay best friend because what’s better than lucking out on your best friend also being good for sex, making you meals, cleaning up after me without dealing with hassle of a high maintenance wife and he’s already gay so it’s a win win for me. God what a fucking prick.
There was no kiss not even in the BLCD. He was talking about something that was cut off.
I thought it was implied in the panel where he leans in, it goes black, then it shows him doubt what the seme had said previously, that he's the only one for him.
Yes, it IS kinda... not cool... that he's known for 22 years and hasn't confronted him about it while letting Tokizou spoil him and dating women. Admittedly, it's Tokizou who is spoiling him, but since Ryuuji knows WHY it's like he's leading him on.
Nah, this story would've gone in a whole different direction had that been the case. That part of the story where Shiba was saying about the whole 22 years thing of falling ("completely" as he phrased it) in love with Tokizou, in Japanese he was doubtful about Tokizou's interest in him (something like 'I'm questioning that Tokizou doesn't have feelings for me' or something like that).
It may be a punchline in the manga, but Tokizou's camouflage technique, for all intents and purposes, I'd interpret was pretty much effective except for that lapse in the flashback.
So true! But he's a seme in a yaoi manga, what do you expect? For him it's a choice between being a rapist, a cheater, or trash who mooches off the uke's love, so at least this guy seems to have chosen the less..criminal option, lol. I sure hope that sometime in the near future mangaka will think to start writing at least a few decent, forthright seme; I'm seriously considering ditching this genre altogether.
It looks like Tokizou was crushing on Ryuuji all this time (25 years) and Ryuuji hasn't been able to get it out of his head since that incident 22 years ago when he discovered Tokizou's feelings because of the sleep kiss. Since then Ryuuji's gone on as usual, dating women and even getting married, while trying to come to terms with his friend's feelings. Now he's 42, he's tried women and even marriage, now he's willing to give his friend a shot. I'm thinking Ryuuji is in love with Tokizou now too (as evidenced by the jealousy and him even trying to talk the part timer, Udo, out of it), but i don't think he's been crushing on him for years like Tokizou has, i think he allowed himself to give it a shot when his marriage ended in divorce. I guess we'll see? I could see it being that Ryuuji's had a crush since the sleep kiss, but if so why not date? It'd be a plot hole. Maybe it's one of those guilty crush plots where he denies his feelings and dates women, now he's older and doesn't care enough anymore to deny it?
