I agree. The degree to which they're despicable and pathetic respectively is just ridiculous. I refuse to believe we're supposed to feel empathy for those two.
If you don't feel empathy for Ume then you don't think Hara is despicable.
Honestly this author has to be trolling their readers because after chapter 3 it’s obvious that the author is aware how ridiculous Ume is for degrading himself for Hara so much. I mean after all, the introduction of the ex-fuck buddy literally voicing reason to every point as to why Hara is trash and yet Ume still chooses him has to be breaking the 4th wall or just trolling meta at this point.
