A lot of Asian media basically treat late 20s to early 30s as old. In Jrpgs it's not uncommon for such characters to literally refer to themselves as a "old man" (Raven from Tales Of Vesperia, Jade from Tales Of The Abyss) and act like they are over the hill with a foot in the grave. Idk if it's a cultural thing or what.

it is, a man in his 30's will be considered as a good man in his prime, but a woman is her late 20's (after 25) is considered as a left over. it's some old generation's common things, since in the old times, woman can't go to school, and only permitted to do the houseworks, give birth, raising children and take care of family members. they can't talk back to the husband, or his fam members, can only be controlled and can't fight back, or the social will bashed her and her fam members as sinner and barbarian,... too bad that the old people can't looks beyond their time, nowadays well education peoples don't do things like this anymore, but mosts of them still do, ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
