It’s true that we all can’t control who we like, and the same goes for Hakamada’s character. But Yuuki properly rejected him, and she has a boyfriend. The fact that Hakamada tries to make advances all the while knowing that Yuuki isn’t interested in him is disrespectful. He’s making the person he likes feel uncomfortable just so that he can feel better about himself. And that’s why people are upset.
Bingo ! Absolutely correct ! Hakamada-kun is disrespecting both Yulki and Naruse by continuing his pursuit. I get the "you like who you like" deal, but, the boy should show some restraint and keep his distance.

Please don't misunderstand Freya, I don't hate Hakamada's character or your feelings. I actually like him and think he is uber HOT ! LOL - But I think he has never dealt with these particular kinds of feelings of liking someone. His irrational behavior is due to his lack of maturity. So, by him continually pursuing someone else's girlfriend, and trying to break up an established couple, most people will find it offensive. If you have never been in a serious relationship, you might not understand. Personally ... I can't wait to see his reaction to the new rings Yuki & Naruse are now sporting ! Peace to you !
