There seem to be a lot of contradictions. I'm hoping the author is just setting it all up for a big "here's the truth of what's going on" and addresses them all.
Seems like most are still missing the big reveal here. Alessandro has a natural high tolerance to alcohol due to being a member of the snake tribe meaning that Ivan does too. This negates the previous claim that he and our defenseless little hen were both wasted at the time of the imprint. Ivan is his superior, probably saw him plenty at work but since he never goes to the company events Ivan had never seen his tipsy and unfiltered side. Might have been enough to make him want to imprint to ensure it wouldn't be just the one night.
