Well he tortured her for so long he recognizes her reactions. He trained her to respond that way. So hes happy to see another girl acting just like her so he can replace her and get what he needs. Basically the guy is crazy. Isane.

I understood that it was because of her name, her name is Ye Xingling & her name used to be Xia Ling, but Wei Shaoyin calls her Xiao Ling ( [xiao] is kinda like the [-chan] in japanese ), so it should something like "Litte Ling", is a term of endearment towards Xingling (because he's fond of her) that's why he wants her to call him [Ah-Wei] instead of "Mr. Wei", you know, non-formally. The thing is that Xiao Ling sounds really similar to Xia Ling, that's why Pei Ziheng noticed Xingling at first.

XIAO LING / XIA LING (sounds really similar)

Now I'm going to start to assume, I assume that he wants to be her escort because he wants to kinda fill the empty spot that Xia Ling left in his life (Xingling did say that he looked skinnier & he never smoked before), so I assume he is somewhat depressed about losing Xia Ling and now just wants a "substitute". Also, the way she reacted to him (fearful) made his interest bigger, she rejected his gift which made him anxious, now he is interacting with her & she is strongly rejecting him and this is getting on his nerves, because no one ever rejects him... Just remember when Xia Ling wanted to left him, he suddenly turned aggressive & psychopathic when apparently before he wasn't (visibly) like that (even if he was already a creep who took a little girl from an orphanage, manipulated her emotions to have her think of him as a "god" since he was "saving" her sister & her, and finally ended up having a sexual relationship with her).

I believe he dislikes rejection & people going against his will, at first it was just that he was attracted to her because of her name, now it's something else... Something creepier. I don't know if he has already started to notice the similarities between Xia Ling & Xiao Ling, but if/when he does it, his obsession with her is going to increase.
