i think the king's curse is the same as Karma's from Cinderella Phenomenon.

Now that you said it, they really are alike, both turning into a monster when the time is up and keep being human if they fall in love. But I think in the king's case it's not really a curse and more of something to do with his powers, since he is also adored by the monsters

It's an otome game. You can find it on steam or in the developer's page, for free. The plot has to do with people getting fairytale curses, or curses that have fairytales as basis, but with twists. The game sinopsis might explain it better...

Karma turns into a monster if he’s in love and around the person he loves. The king liked the MC a bit and the rose bloomed a little. He reminded himself not to like her if he wants to remain human. So it sounds like he is the same as Karma, but the only problem with that is the king turns into a monster even if the heroine romances the prince. Though that’s one of two possible endings, the "bad" ending. The MC doesn’t seem to know anything about the rose, so either she didn’t start or complete his route, or there’s something else going on. This should be interesting. I just hope we don’t see too many similarities.

Oh, that's right. It has been a while since I played CP so I forgot the details of his curse. Then, would that mean that Irene is mistaken about the king's situation and will be surprised by him turning into a monster when he falls in love instead instead? I think he is a dragon in the cover (not going to check), so you do have a point.
