Hmmm....I like this theory. But why is only jian yi in danger and not he tian. I assume they would both need saving from bad guy if they have the same dad.

He Tian and Jian Yi are half brothers
JianYi’s mom had a relashionship with He Tian’s dad, long long time ago and Jian Yi was born.
He Tian and his brother are the officials children and Jian Yi is not
