I mean maybe in a non-dining setting where it's sweets only? but also i think this one is just the HUGE gap in appearance vs likes, i mean imagine the meanest bully or mobster ever being obsessed with candy and cute things, that kind of gap moe is a huge manga/anime love for viewers cause it's cute.
Maybe its just a cultural divide but I wouldn't think anything of a "manly" guy eating sweets, I don't equate masculinity with food preferences. So do vegan males not exist in Japan? Or is it JUST sweets
gap moe doesn't exist just for manly men eating sweets, it's not even a gender specific only thing it exists for any person who is clinging hard to a particular genre and then loves things from another, aka Aggretsuko. It's just a kind of kink in a way? Being vegan has nothing to do with masculinity...those be just soyboys.

its not about the sweets. tho it can play a slight role to some if its overly to sweet. but i doubt thats the case its more on how CUTE the sweets are that are typically done to attract women. u dont typically see men liking cute toys/food. just women lol basically its like putting an underwear mens line row smack in the middle of all the victoria secret goods! its a bit embrassing. and some can find it humiliating.
