The recent chapters are cute and all but is it just me or is this a calm before a storm? I...

I almost forgot about that. Ria's mother cast a curse when Ria was born. Something about Ria causing Caitel's destruction.

I get the feeling that the curse was to get him to become so attached to Ria that he would do anything for her. Even die. I get the feeling that is where it will go.

Then this is really a calm before a storm? You know, the author giving us Caitel’s P.O.V is just like telling us that he is already attached to her ┗( T﹏T )┛and the curse will start

Unfortunately, I get that feeling, yeah. Like you remember the curse that the beast had cast on him in "Beauty and The Beast"? He was transformed into an ugly creature and had to fall in love and have that love returned by his 21st birthday? That he almost died protecting Belle but because she loved him back he was saved? That is what gave me the idea about the curse.

Caitel tried to kill Ria, like his other offspring, when she was a baby but decided to keep her on a whim. He then neglected and abused, even telling her from a young age that he didn't love or care for her and that he was going to marry her off soon as he could. (He used this threat multiple times when he felt she was becoming too close to him.) I think the attachment has creeped up on him without him realising it. He gets angry at anyone who spends time with Ria or has affection given to them by her. He spoils her and people even talk about how he is now rumored to "Favor" her.
He has kept pushing her away but as she has shown that she is her own person I think he has become very attached to her. He is so attached that he now can't even sleep without her by his side. Hell, she is meant to be living independently in her own house and be schooled in her position as Princess. But he refuses to let her go, even though she has her own personal royal knight. (who is feared by all on the battlefield!)

I think the reflection we are seeing now is because she is the exact age he was when things started going wrong for him. Since he was her age he has had to fight and kill. But now he has a wonderful darling daughter who is the only person in the world who has the balls to stand up to him and banter with him without being hit or killed. He is having this experience that he should have had growing up but was denied. But he now has that with his only daughter, who he clearly loves. (Even though he doesn't want to admit it.) He is also growing as a person because of her.

I do believe that this will lead to him openly telling her that he loves her at some point and when he does it will be taken away from him. For all, we know he could die protecting her from an assassination attempt. Or someone she falls in love with could kill him. There are so many ways in which his world could be crushed and it will be sad when it does.


These are just my thoughts though.

Lets not forget. The sword guy(Drasante?(forgot his name)) said that Ria is special, not becuase of his fathers blood but becuase of her mothers which means that her mother was someone special so I don’t think this will just be simply assasinating or killing Ria.

I have an ikling/ bad feeling that Ria will be the seed of war and its driving me nuts cause I have a feeling one of my favorite character will die, Argh.

Plus she promised to make him whole again.
