you mean why he's targeted? I think the story has always hinted at Jianyi's father doing some shady work. Jianyi's been kidnapped twice before. It's just that the story has yet to reveal his background. I don't think Jianyi himself knows about it either.

Uh... becuase he the only son of the mafia boss whom He Tian's brother is working for. And Jian Yi isn't aware of that because his mother has kept his father's true identity a secret. <- This is what I'm getting with the hints given in the story.
