I think it’s a ridiculous idea that just because Haero left Don, Don was suppose to remained steadfast single and faithful for Haero’s sake for these 10 yrs.Haero truthfully deserves never to have Don’s love again after the way he treated him, and even while fictional situations like this minus the blackmail happen between ex’s who are partnered. While Don doesn’t love Nami, what people are not understanding is that even in marriage to something as small as a weeklong relationship the point of romance is creating a partnership and trust at the end of day. What Nami and Don have is a partnership despite the lack of romance. And Don broke that trust and respect within said partnership this is what he’s guilty of. Nami did not take advantage of Don, she never has. She made a suggestion to a man who was down on his luck and recommended that she be with him for the sake of mending his broken heart. Of course Nami got something out of it, she got to be closer to the man she loves, however she’s not stupid. She knows she is his rebound and even now still is. Of course she is naive to believe that Don will love her but having spent so many years together is it terrible for her to think that Don taking comfort in their partnership could lead to love. I think when people have this idea of love it’s means passionate,grand gestures, and falling into love with all the heartache revelations, and sweaty palms. In reality love could simply be turning around and realizing you’ve been in love with your childhood friend for years because they just get you after a random conversation, or the person who’s a good listener the cubicle over, or someone that just makes you feel safe. Nami was trying to show Don in her own way by just being there for him and his family that she could provide that. Again you could take the route and say well she was manipulating him and taking advantage of his emotional vulnerability, but for 10 years would you do this for someone you didn’t genuinely care about? It should be noted that Don isn’t gay, he’s possibly bisexual pan demi or whatever so he still had a chance for a “normal” life after Haero left him- the whole point of Haero’s disappearing act. Nami provides that as well and she knows this, she even said as much when she suggested they be together, an opportunity to ward off criticism and ensure the status quo of a good son who will provide grandchildren and a “good” reputation. In reality Nami has given more of herself to this relationship emotionally than Don, but they do get something out of it together. Nami gets the man and a chance at a standard life, Don also gets the same but an opportunity to get over Haero without having to search far. The only wrench in the whole situation is Don never bothered to properly get over Haero which is no fault to Nami because she didn’t force her feelings on Don or force him to love her. But she did expect him I’m sure to make some sort of attempt which he clearly never did and maintain the respect for her that’s had for so long. I pity Nami not because she loves Don but because she loves a man who despite all her efforts doesn’t fully respect her. The whole thing of Nami should walk away and such wasn’t necessary until Haero showed up again. Again as much romance is nice within a marriage and a relationship is a new phenomenon. Before as I stated it was a partnership at its core whether for the sake of economic advancement, political advantage, and just simply relieving loneliness. Don would have been lonely without Haero, his crushing responsibilities, and dropping out of sports. Nami was a familiarity that provide comfort to Don so he’s held on to it for so long as a lifesaver. This latest chapter in him talking Haero further establishes how important Nami has been for Don in even trying to live without Haero. This is all the more reason to see fault with Don for his disrespect in cheating on Nami n

Wow! First of, I’m more than impressed at how long your entry was! I get that you know what Don did to Nami was wrong! And like a lot of people, I hate cheaters but think about it. Nami never gave Don the space to get over Haero before giving him the proposition of getting together! In my opinion, if Nami gave Don more time to think his thoughts through, then maybe they would be in a happier state! Just saying ok? I respect what you said!

I also agree with what you said. I see both sides of the story, my comment would have been way to long if I tried to make a point in explaining both sides so I stuck with what’s been happening a lot in yaoi and shoujo mangas, so thank you for posting this, I truly appreciate it. My post may have seemed like I was siding with Don and Haero, but by no means do I believe what they’re doing is right, it’s just human to follow your gut. I however still do not pity Nami because as I stated she knew what she was offering, and that is the point you made, that of support and a possible partnership. She played a huge part in preventing Don from completely falling apart. Again I really appreciate your comment, as opposed to someone just saying “Don is a dick” or “Nami is a bitch”.

To be fair, as far as we know all she did was offer her support right off the bat. Just to let Don know that he can depend on her. How long Don wanted to wait to get over Haero was all up to him. And correct me if I’m wrong, they just started off as friends and her supporting him then he decided to return her feelings. Again as far as we know, no one forced him into a relationship with Nami especially not right away. He probably didn’t want to allow himself to get over Haero, and by that I mean with everything that was going on, he probably felt like he didn’t have the time to think about it. Sorry for the long comments.

And also to add, though he might not have been forced, he may have felt pressured. Just a thought.

I do agree that they did start off as friends! But like you said, she gave her offer right of the bat and although Don could have chosen to take up her offer anytime, I feel like she is being a little insensitive to state her offer right off the bat! I mean, it is not a bad thing to be so motivated to do such things but sayig it right off the bat just comes of as insensitive to me! She could have waited a little for him to calm down instead of giving the proposition inmediately! But just to be fair, I am grateful to her because she helped Don when he needed help! But I am still feeling a little salty of her actions!

when she admit that she wasted her time for nothing on Don - she was right. you can't force someone to love you, if someone see you has friend after 5 years, then she should have accepted it and leave. hell even after 2 years she should have leave, I"m she notice.

The conversation is still ongoing? To be honest, it’s not Nami fault. She just wanted to help Don while fulfilling her own desire too. And who knows that Don would be this faithful? Because some people might have give up and love Nami already. She helped him and stay by his side when he’s in his weakest and miserable state. It’s like some other manga that show; the supporting character chasing after the main character who’s chasing after another main character that always run away from them. Nami was selfish has well, thinking that she can use this opportunity to get with someone she love one sided. and no just cause he was heart broken, don't give her the right to force her feelings on someone. and yeas Don didn't have to give her any feelings back, love dosn't work by forcing yourself on someone just cause you love them. Don don't own her anything, she the one who decided to stay with one sided love, while known so. and she admit it she was selfish.

I read somewhere in the comments something that say something that I really agree: don't force your feelings on someone if you see they don't love you. you can try again going after them, but if they don't love you back after 2-3 years - then yeas, move on and give up on them! they not worth it." I really liked that comment. can't remember who it was. Nami is a good lesson to learn what not to do, even if you have a selfish side, you can always learn to be better and get over this side.

I don’t really see Nami force Don to love her though. About she wanted to marry? She didn’t know that Haero was back. Also she wanted to suicide? She was stupid at that time but was saved by Haero and didn’t force Don to take responsibility when she found out she have his baby.

No matter what all those years she stayed with Don and did so many things for him, she didn’t force Don to return her feelings. It was Don, who wanted to return her kindness back that got him through all those years. He even slept with her, don’t you see? ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

Don’t waste your breathe. People want Don and Haero to blameless so they’ll be blameless. There’s nothing you can say to change their mind in acknowledging Nami is as much a victim as they are within this Greek tragedy.

Ikr? This story wasn’t intent to teach us how Nami force her love on someone or not. I think the three of them has their own selflessness and they are all a victim because of that.
