But to me the other rivals are far more interesting. Gerald is a fun character, but having seen the other candidates character's depth, idk they're just more attractive to me.

Sure, they may not had a lot of interaction, but I ship them harder than ever thanks to President Council's POV.
I actually want to know if there's any meaning to what he said about him & Nicole's shared loneliness! And there's a scene in the manga that keeps bothering me: the one where Katarina complimented Nicole for having such parents and to which , it seemed to me, he smiledly at her fakely, but still without any malice. Does he have a bad relationship with their parents? Or is there any secret in their family! Ofc, these are just wild imaginations of mine.
The other candidate I'm biased to is Alan. Come on, he's just a cutie pie!!

Yeah, I realized you're right about the depth. But I think that's the reason why I like Gerald so much. We don't learn a lot about him, but when we do it gives us just one more tantalizing peek into the window of his soul (so to speak) and we discover that not only is he really, truly in love with Katarina but that he isn't nearly as nasty as most of the princes the FLs from other transmigration/reincarnation novels were engaged to and definitely not as nasty as he was portrayed in the otome game this FL played in her previous life and all this while seeming so perfect on the outside. Maybe for me that's the moe gap? Lol.
Have you read the story Plastic Sisters on Webcomics? I think that story is actually a straight romance but the initial introduction makes it seem like a yuri. And that is the FIRST time where I'm actually rooting for a yuri pairing over what is most likely the straight, canonical pairing.
