Yes! i feel a bit the same, also i am really sick of the second generation bearing the brunt of hate just because their parents did something wrong, HE let the child come into the world it is not her fault she was born, she didn't get to decide that he would be her father, it kind of makes me sick to see how bad he treats her.

Seeing how easily he was able to name his mistress as his new wife I wonder why he even married Vio's mom at all. Yes she orchestrated a lot to get them together, but it seems like as a man he has a lot of social capital. Especially with all this talk of how common concubines for nobility is. He in a way brought this on himself. So taking things out on Vio is doubly unfair.
I really don't like Violet's dad. I don't know if he's acting harsh towards Violet because he's wary that she'll do something mean to her half sister or because he hated his previous wife and anything related to her but it doesn't justify his actions.
