Im scared lol

I'm positive he's actually in love with her. From what I've seen, he's the first prince, who doesn't show himself in public, that's why nobody recognizes him except for members of the royal family and people who are very close to the royal family, like Iris's parents and grandpa. I think he's been going around incognito to learn stuff from the people and see people's opinions and way of living and stuff like that. That's why he was working at the traders' guild before they met and that's also why he went to Iris. He was curious about her methods and the way she ruled the fief. His original intentions were to investigate and learn, but seeing how hard working and capable she is, he ended up falling for her, so I don't think there's anything to worry about on that part. Except... she doesn't know he's the first prince and he's been deceiving her this whole time, technically so she's probably going to be hurt when she discovers the truth

Nah the prince isn't all that perfect. As a reader of the novel, I can say for sure that Dean is not Iris's knight in shining armor. He cares more about being king and the country than her. Which is honorable but after all Iris has been through she deserves wholehearted love. Dean is ready to betray her at any time if necessary, and that doesn't sit right with me.

Oh really? That's too bad then. I had really hoped for her to find a decent one for once. All the people around her love her, support her and are loyal to her, so why can't she find a significant other like that as well, right? sigh...

Well, I don't really mind that, because she's a capable and independent woman who doesn't need a man to feel fulfilled, but I feel bad for her because she's obviously falling for Dean. I don't want her to get hurt
