I'm all in agreement with the consensus that this series is dragging on (10 year reader here), but I think a lot of people are missing a key factor as to why it's getting so painfully dull. To me, this series was never just about Kyoko getting together with Ren. It's honestly primarily about Kyoko discovering herself. She starts the series empty, and learns to love both others and herself again. It's why I've always loved the series. But lately it's been so romance centered but with absolutely no solid romantic development. With the petty girl who claimed to have dated Ren (you expect me to believe Kyoko can't smell this girl's lies?? Hello??? Where is my girl. Don't reverse her intelligence. Girl may not know love, but she knows a damn liar). And then SUDDENLY she's so friendly with Shou? Like I'm all for her softening on him but it feels like too big a jump all at once. And what about Moko going to America? So many things all over the place. Dealing with Kyoko's mom was great, bring that back. Heel siblings were *mwah* wonderful. But making my girl act all dumb in these short, lifeless chapters???? [Insert "I don't want these" meme here]
