I think the elves chef was special. I remember at some point he had some kind of reset (i should re-read it). Maybe He'll meet some other "version" of him. I did not read the book so i don't really know where the story goes.
Reset? Do you mean that part when the mc asked about the system and the elf kind of lagged before ignoring those words? Cause I think that was only due to the fact that these creatures aren't supposed to know about the system, so when asked, they can't handle it. Kinda like a computer that can't execute the order.
I didn't read the novel either, but the MC's shadow-thing isn't supposed to work 100% of times, so a failure was bound to happen.

Yeah i'm talking about this and i think you're right but i was wondering what if the monsters, the elves, whatever, what if they learn about the system? I mean, what if they oppose it? I've read a lot of these kind of game-like stories and the appearance of dungeons, and the system in itself, could be part of the story in the future.
Hmm, valid theory. It seems as if the system itself doesn't let them know, but a bug could always occur. Or our dear old MC will mess it up :D

he was crazy strong and it would have been awesome
i'm sure he's going to meet stronger beasts and tame them but it would have been cool to have him meanwhile
