I've loved this story since the beginning. I've really, really liked it. But at one point I began to be disapointed. Since the first knockers appeared to be exact. Yeah, I know, they've been around since a very long time ago.
But at the begin of the story, I was like : it's gonna be a story about a form of living that can turn into everything and can't die. It's gonna explore the world, discover knew living things, cultures, stories, societies. times going to pass by. Knew societies will appear, with knew way of thinking. And we will follow the opinion if Immo, who doesn't belong to anything and have his own point of vue. He's not attached to any societies. He will learn love, live, death, hate, and so many things. I thought it would be the adventure of a life.
And then there is the knockers, the people that you can bring back to life, the war, this strange man in black coat, ect ect... I'm so sad. I know that a lot of people must love it like that but not me. The story is a mess. The fact that immo became a god for some people and a demon for other is pretty intersting. They were a lot of point that were cool, but not the knockers, and sadly it's the main story.
it is of course what I think, you can disagree. Sorry for my english.

Oh thank God, I thought I was the only ;-; Same feelings here... Sometimes I don't even know whether I should continue to read it... But some good parts of it still make me stay.

Oh, now when I looked on the date... lol
And same here. I have been waiting for the last 6-7 chapters to read them all at once and today I finally did it... But really, I doubt you'll miss something by skipping it. Sad but true...

yeah, honestly I really don't understand why the authors (I think they're two?) made the knockers. It's like, so out of context!
But maybe the editor is at fault. I don't know, sometimes it seems really strange. Like, remember the fat boy who finally is a girl who finally become thin? (i don't remember her name). It's the perfect exemple. Life, first : it's a boy in love with another boy, so there is the question of homosexuality. Which is super interesting, because Immo isn't attached to any societies, He has his own way of thinking. And they did talk about it, so it was the begining of something! But then it's a girl. I was like : why did they do this?! why did they start talking about it, if it finish with that?!
But still, the girl was fat. And it's interesting, we only have "beautiful" girls in manga. Here is a girl, like many in the world, who love and live. And we don't care if she's big, small, tall, flat...She's just herself!
    And then she became thin.
I was soooooo disapointed. Like, realy realy realy disapointed. Worst of all, the moment she become thin, her love interest start loving her.
So yeah, there were a lot a thing like that, and it makes me sad, cause the story was so good. I don't know if I continue..

Ohhhh I know that feeling! Maan... It strikes me sometimes really hard, like, here is some really interesting idea or action - and then suddenly it's all just for nothing! I experienced it for the first time, when Fushi met March and then there was a scene when he suddenly smiled at her. He looked like just a normal human, as if he was living for a long time already and actually understood what's happening. And, no, the fact itself that he could finally comprehend the situation wasn't the problem itself (although it was pretty sudden). The problem is - on the next page he has already completely forgotten about his human emotions! Like, what?! He suddenly learns how to be (how to feel like) human and then just... like nothing happened? It seemed pretty strange for me, but I didn't pay much attention to it (because it was still the beginning and I actually loved it pretty much). But after that these moments have repeated themselves, like you said with that girl (I liked her, by the way :D But it doesn't change anything).
Oh I feel you so much... ;-; But I somehow glad I found someone who think same X) Before that I thought maybe I really just don't get something ._.

I'm glad too. Well, people liked my comment (which mean they think the same I think?), but nobody respond...
Yeah, i'b really liked it. I bought all the book...I'm not even sad, just angry. Like someone messed this story...
Yeah, well, the girl is cool, but not as much as the other one. In fact, I think I love how the characters keep dying (it's horrible, but it's what make this story so interesting).
I think it's why I don't like Bon (bone? bonne?). He can see the spirit of the dead, which means they're still there... And I don't really remember how, but the way his personnality changed is so weird! Like, he's not the same anymore...

It's always so: the more you like something, the more you get frustrated when it... betrays you, so to say...
Oh, but I don't think there are two authors here, the info everywhere shows only one. I believe it could be the new genre for the author? I mean, her previous work has nothing to do with supernatural and is all about drama. Maybe that's the case... Maybe the editor... Who knows o-o
    > In fact, I think I love how the characters keep dying
Lol we're in the same boat here. Dying in this story actually progresses it rather well.
I don't know what to think about Bon's powers yet (still kinda wanna know, where will the author lead us with it), but I unexpectedly like his personality X) Though I'm not sure about this change as well... The last arc is pretty weird already, so I just wait x-x The only one who brings me some happiness now is Eko, but there's "that weird moment" once again... Ugh, whatever... But somehow I want to read until this arc ends and then decide whether I should keep reading.

    mihi-me September 22, 2019 8:59 pm

Yeah, and the fact that they're dying but not Immo is the strong point of the story.
And this arc's characters are going to die too, so what will happened? The end of the knockers with the end of this arc? A big turn for the story or the end of it? But if the knockers disappear, then the story while really lack somethig. We can't return to the "trip of a being in the world and the time", it wouldn't work. Because knockers gived a string. I want to see how it's gonna go, because maybe it will turn good. or maybe not...

Yeah, Eko is kinda good, but the last characters lost their charm...(for me at least). Because it's not anymore a look at their life...I don't know how to say it, but Immo is like a window, and by him we can see moment of a life, which end whith death. That's so charming! It's like a trip in time and society! When I say this story was good, i really mean it. The begining was so good, the idea so...beautiful! But know...
And that's why Bon's power bother me. The dead must stay dead, because it's what make the story. And the new power of Immo, when he brings back the dead, I'm like : what did you killed them, if they just come back?! Now any death won't mean anything anymore!

And by the way, you're right, there is only one author. I don't know why I though they were two... I even saw her at a convention...(her drawing is so good).
Yeah, I'm bashing the editor, but it seems so strange to me, this sudden changes. And I like how she changes the genre, it's kinfa refreshing, she's expliring new thing and you can sense it.

    kazis September 24, 2019 9:51 pm

I agree mostly with everything you say! :D
And one thing suddenly came to mind... Maybe that's the case, I mean: maybe the author tries to show us how the world will change into some place where most people cannot die? And how Immo will deal with that situation, will he accept finally death then? What would death mean for him in the end? Could he really part with someone dear to him? It's all good and all, but the knockers somewhat still feel unnecessary for the plot then X)
    We will see :3

Not many authors change the genre they work in so drastically, as far as I know o.o So yeah, it feels fresh.

    mihi-me September 25, 2019 7:46 am

Yeah, the fact that Immo didn't have a goal was also important. Well now he has one (knockers).
I can't imagine him dying...But at somepoint, he saw it so many time. It would be strange for him, but i don't know if he would be afraid...
