If you aren't used to drinking it could make you drunk really fast but not really sick, it's a common way of having soju, I don't really like it tho cuz I hate beer, I think having only soju is way better, take it on small sips with some snacks and you will be fine

Well as far as i'm concerned, most people could only drink up to a bottle or so of say.. 40-50% whiskey or other hard liquor right? So i'll assume that it's normal?
