I am not defending pedophilia. I literally googled the age of consent in Japan and the age that came up was 13. I don't live there. You can't expect everyone to know that is common knowledge if they don't live there.

Besides, this is fiction. My problem is that some people are reacting a bit too heavily. Japan is pretty known for having titles that say it all. If the title said the literal plot (one that you may happen to be against), please don't read it. Like I said in my previous comment, our values don't matter if it's being viewed in a different context from a (in this case) completely different culture.

How different do you think Asia is compared to rest of the world the reactions people are having here about the age gap would be the same in Japan using a niche medium (Yes even in japan) like manga to say we shouldn’t be viewing things through a kaleidoscope is dense of you. The cultural gap and difference in values in this specific situation isn’t as wide or as a different you're making it out to be but I get what you’re saying.

I also understand what you are saying. But there are subtleties that are put in some media that either can't be translated or are something you have to be a native or have lived there to understand. Plus different places view specific topics slightly different.

I can't expect everyone to read/watch with this in mind, but it is especially important for sensitive/conservative topics. Not accepting them as is, but not assuming things from them either.

Also thanks for replying in a nice way. I was expecting huge fallout from just stating my opinion.
