I mean dont get me wrong, I read my fair share of rape mangas, killing stalking comes to mind as my fav, but it does sometimes raise a question why an author may want to portray such a grotesque af action. If art is supposed to be a medium for an artists to portray their thoughts, why is it that asian manga/hwa/hua use rape as a plot or plot device as if it is normal?
For a more, i guess, mainstream example. Think about GoT and the people wailing about how Sansa's rape shouldnt have been used to strengthen her character.

Killing Stalking had a plot that needed what happened with Bum to develop the whole story. And a space opens up to talk about taboo themes.
