I've read the raws already so this didn't come as a surprise, but I will admit that I was low key disappointed with the route it took the first time I read this chapter because I was expecting more slow burn comedic romance before anything physical happened. But after rereading it closely I have no problems with it because the author didn't assassinate either of their characterization to make the incident happen. It was basically an accident caused by 50% bad luck + 30% Tsugumi's stubbornness in refusing to take the shot + 20% Megumi's thirst that made him unable to resist the pheromones in the end.
I am saddened by Megumi getting the rapist treatment because while his expressions and thoughts do look rapey in the last few pages, the context and his admission that he can't think clearly make it easy to see that he's not sober at that point and is under the influence of Tsugumi's pheromones. In omegaverse the omega heat pheromones have an aphrodisiac effect so it's not fair to apply our real world logic and expect Megumi to be impervious to it after such prolonged exposure.
Serious stuff aside, I find it ironically hilarious that Megumi lost control as a result of Tsugumi's pheromones getting thicker, because that only happened after he honestly talked about his wish of wanting to be a decent person who respects omegas and his opinions on intimacy, making Tsugumi doki and instinctively release more pheromones. (Maybe his stupid omegaverse logic controlled body is like, "A+ Alpha spotted, MUST GET" against his will OTL) I wonder if Megumi would've managed to successfully give Tsugumi the shot if he wasn't that nice. Probably not, because he most likely managed to hold on as long as he did while inhaling all that airborne aphrodisiac exactly because he's a nice person who wanted to do the right thing. ╥﹏╥
Minor spoiler regarding Tsugumi's unwillingness to accept suppressants: he had a reason but it's nothing serious. Under the circumstances he definitely should've taken it, but alas he's a silly hot blooded boi. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
