Lol, it's how most of these stories about gods go. Usually the god is selfishly making these decisions and "spirits" the humans away. And it's not just in yaoi, this is how missing or kidnapped people were explained away many centuries ago.
Was it just me or was this really jumpy? I feel like there were too many hoops that they jumped through and expected us to follow...one moment he doesn’t know who the president is and the next they’re having sex. It feels like the uke is getting continuously brainwashed because he has small moments where he’s uncomfortable with the snake god and then all of a sudden he’s fine. He also seems to be going with the flow way too much to be authentic like he barely speaks to the snake god except when he’s a pet snake. There seemed to be a lot of issues they brought up that they just kind of left in the air. Like when the uke was talking to the snake and was like “the president is sexually harassing me” and looks very reluctant and frustrated and then suddenly they’re having sex and the uke is blushing like he’s in love. When did they interact enough for them to fall in love?? I’m confused.
