Honestly, my favorite shojou manga ever. So good that I'm 100% sure that it will ALWAYS be my favorite. These people whining over how "slow" the relationship is progressing should just go read some cliche ass, run of the mill, generic shojou you can find literally everywhere cuz that is the one thing skip beat is not. Instead, this manga focuses on the development of each and every character and their flaws and how that helps them overcome themselves and become better people as well as actors. I'm always excited to read these updates and I am perfectly fine with waiting for updates. I should also mention updates are once a month and we get 12 chapters every year, which is not enough for a relationship to go from 1 to 100 without looking seriously rushed. While for a lot of people it's been many years "without progress," (and I seriously disagree on this because there's been SO much steadily building up) for kyoko it's literally not even been a year yet since she entered the show biz world and, frankly, I think a lot as happened in that one year. For example:

she met Ren's father (without realizing) who is a legendary actor himself and gained his approval/acknowledgement as an actress not to mention became his "child" - oh the irony -

she met her own mother again and was able to find out just why she had to suffer so much as a child, leading to a huge weight being lifted off her shoulders and significant character development/acceptance

she stopped denying/locking up/running away from her feelings for ren which is also huge because the whole reason why she's in the love me section is because she believes love is useless and only makes people weak

and last but not least, her ACTING has significantly leveled up since she began her career which is the whole point of her becoming an actress!!!

And did I mention that ren was also able to let go of his inner demons? Yeah, after struggling for years with himself, he was finally able to accept that he also deserved to happy. That's why it took so long to get to this point where they can both accept/examine their feelings toward each other and actually act accordingly. This is just the beginning of the drama that's about to unfold but without all their previous obstacles, they wouldn't have even been able to make it to this point. Now if you don't call that progress I don't know what's wrong with you.

Thank You for finally saying that. If people don't want slow building story, go away from Nakamura's works. Slow pacing story is the essencial

I've followed this manga for half my life and i'm in my mid 20s. idk how long you've been with this manga but those of us who have been with this for so long aren't confused that there has been large leaps and developments since its origin. It's amazing how much these characters have changed and grown. We all love and/or respect these characters and want the best for them however, when considering the real time it has been for substantial progress for the characters we love, it's difficult to not feel a bit bitter. No one is saying there hasn't been progress but imo in the last few years, things have been plateauing a bit. To get a sense of what I mean, here are the timestamps in the last few years for a bit of perspective.
May 2019, first ever scandal of tsuruga ren (will this finally be a big catalyst for renxkyoko?)
May 2018, exactly one year ago, is when this scandal photo was shot.
May 2017, Kyoko unleashed her method acting skills during the audition for Momiji.
May 2016, towards the start of Momoji arc
    May 2015, Kyoko's mom arc

And again, this is because we only get 12 chapters a year! Also, realistically speaking, no manga/life story ever has action all the way through. There needs to be some calm before there can be a storm else it just gets too tiring. I’ve also been following this manga for years but I refuse to let the slow /releases/ get the better of my love for the manga itself

Sorry for being impatient but I was 20 years old when I first discovered Skip Beat. I honestly loved it. Unfortunately, I am now 33 years old and although I am very aware that this Mangaka always develops her series slowly, it’s been 17 years since this was first released. I think she could gives us some closure. I don’t know how many years it’s been for you, but I have been waiting 13 years for Kyoko and Ren to get together. Please let us rant a little.

Again, real time does not equal manga time. You can take it up w the mangaka if you think you deserve “closure” but don’t ask for the series to be rushed. I’ve also been reading this manga for around 8 years but never have I wished for the pace to go faster. I may have wished for faster updates (which is what most ppl should actually be asking for instead of a rushed plot imo) but the way the manga has been going it would only ruin the storyline for all problems to be magically solved in one chapter which is what most complainer songs are asking for. If this isn’t you, fine. But I’m just saying a lot of ppl are complaining w/o actually realizing what they are asking for which is a shitty manga. Complaints are fine but some of them are just plain ignorant and as someone who knows how to appreciate Skip Beat in all its details and nuances, I have to say it’s infuriating every time I see these negative rants after a chapter is released. Instead of being excited, it’s almost an automated response to just bash the author now.
