Sanada has actually loved Itonaga the entire time! he just dumped water on him that one time because he got scared and was questioning his feelings at the time. he told itonaga not to "look at him with those eyes" because he was scared about how cute they were to him. The bullying picked up when it was clear Sanada was avoiding him and Itonaga moved away before he could apologize. He is definitely NOT proud of what he's done to Itonaga and is trying his best to make it up to him to apologize... and before anyone says anything, he even turns down an invitation to their middle school reunion just to spend time with itonaga on his birthday, but it also leads to some drama where Itonaga and Sanada both think the other secretly don't like each other, but they talk it out at the end and it's all okay.
I was bullied very similarly, so I can totally relate. So while Itonaga almost immediately accepts Sanada, I have serious trust issues and am totally expecting something really bad to happen. Then they end up having sex. AND SANADA BLINDFOLDED ITONAGA. OMG, I swear I almost stopped reading. I was expecting Sanada to snap pictures and be cruel. That he was just messing around. He confessed so quickly without hardly any interaction, it totally felt like a set up.
But then the negative crap my mind built up didn’t happen. Sanada was gentle. Apologized. I still don’t trust him yet. Probably won’t until the last panel.
